Just Wondering, Jesus: 100 Questions People Want to Ask - Ehrich, Tom. Morehouse, an imprint of Continuum, 2005. 164p. $16.95, Paperback. ISBN 0819221465. 242.22 Theology, Doctrinal—Popular works. Christian life—Miscellanea.
Ehrich is a former reporter for The Wall Street Journal, an Episcopal priest, syndicated newspaper columnist, and business consultant. The questions in his book come from his more-than-passing acquaintance with the public in his professional roles. The answers he gives are from the Bible but are bolstered by his life experiences.
Putting aside doctrine, analysis, argument, and whatever the church tells us to ask, what questions would we lay before the Lord if we heard God passing by, here and now, and dared raise our voice to ask? I found the results amazing, deeply instructive, and seldom answered from scriptural passages I (or maybe you) might select. And that is okay—God provides abundant answers. Ehrich believes that "living life inside the box holds no appeal. We want to be a part of a vibrant Christian community, but not at the expense of putting aside real questions and rejoining sterile bickering over safe issues."
The questions and answers are topically arranged. Ehrich has an engaging writing style—a human and humane voice. This book will clue clergy in to the "real" questions out there and will assure the laity that there are answers. Excellent for new seekers and small group studies. An excellent resource for every Christian library; worth the money, and it won’t go out of date
