A Case of Nosy Neighbors - Copeland, Lori. Tyndale, c2004. 314p. $12.99, Paperback. ISBN 0842371176. 813’.54

Fans of mystery and humor will enjoy the third installment in Lori Copeland’s Morning Shade series. The quiet writer’s life of 60-year-old widow Maude Diamond has been complicated by carpal tunnel syndrome and a broken ankle, but she still teams effectively—if not without exasperation—with her sleuthing 87-year-old mother-in-law Stella and animal-loving daughter CeeCee. When a neighbor in the usually sleepy Arkansas town of Morning Shade reports a Peeping Tom, the three women are on the case, which is unfortunately beyond the skills of Hargus, the hapless police chief. Chaos and comedy ensue. But these loveable characters remember, even in the midst of their adventures, who has blessed them with life and laughter. Highly recommended for all congregational libraries. Previous titles in this series are A Case of Bad Taste (2003) and A Case of Crooked Letters (2004), both also published by Tyndale.
