Library Services
CSLA's Library Services Committee, comprised of experienced librarians who want to share their expertise, provides individual assistance, educational resources, and updated bibliographies of titles appropriate for congregational use.
Recent topics of bibliographies include books on the Holocaust, Judaism, and Christian liturgical seasons. CSLA also publishes bibliographies of religious books for teens and children, and guides for librarians on various technical aspects of congregational librarianship. What are Library Services materials?
Library Services materials are brief publications, most often based on handouts given out at CSLA Conference workshops, covering a wide scope of topics pertinent to congregational libraries. These topics basically fit into two categories: administrative and book lists. They include such subjects as library policy, weeding, promotion, books for teens, books for men, and mystery books for the congregational library.
