The following is a listing of companies and organizations that provide software of interest to congregational librarians.

Some library automation vendors have special pricing offering substantial savings for congregational libraries, or for libraries with small collections.  Be sure to inquire, as these prices may not be posted on the company's website

LibraryThing - While developed primarily for cataloging and sharing information about personal book collections, the low one-time cost for a lifetime account has made LT a popular option for congregational and other nonprofit libraries with extremely limited budgets.  This web-based program provides an online public access catalog (OPAC) with thumbnail covers images and both user and Amazon reviews.  It does not include circulation or label-making functions.

LibraryWorld - Provides a full range of web-based library applications including cataloging, z39.50, circulation, inventory, serials tracking, online public access catalog (OPAC) and mobile apps.  All applications are included in all service plans.

Surpass Software - Surpass provides powerful yet easy-to-use, affordable library automation solutions for church and synagogue libraries as well as school, public and corporate libraries. Twice in 2003 Surpass was rated number one in customer satisfaction in surveys published in Computers in Libraries magazine. Surpass features special pricing for small libraries and you may try any product free. The company also offers an optional hosting service for libraries which prefer to have their automation vendor manage the software and store their databases.
